Isn't anybody from H/P, Microsoft, or Roku paying attention. My brand new Windows 11 "Edge" laptop connects to Roku TV for Screen Mirroring, but only mirrors my laptop desktop, audio, and mouse movements. Does NOT show any other window I open up on the laptop, nor any video, but upon opening the connection, only shows "Starting video from...", with no apparent way to stop this unknown video, or break away from that hang-up. Something on the computer end is blocking anything personal from showing up on the screen mirror. I disengaged the firewall and that did not help. I updated all drivers, rebooted a zillion times, ran troubleshooters, unplugged Roku TV for 5 minutes, restarted the network adapter, and still the same thing happens every time....Roku TV only shows "Starting video from...". Can anyone figure out what we're missing here? Seems we're so close to solving this. 😞
Hi SoundmanRon,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
Thanks for letting us know about your trouble with screen mirroring your Windows 11 Laptop to a Roku device and the steps you took to fix the issue.
We'd be more than happy to look into this further. For us to help you better, we will ask a set of questions to isolate the issue:
- What Roku device are you using right now? (e.g., Roku Express, Roku Streambar, Roku TV—specify TV)
- Are there any changes in the setup or settings of your Roku device or your network provider that might cause the problem?
- Have you verified that your router is set to use b/g/n Wireless Mode on the 2.4 GHz band?
- Have you tried connecting your Roku device to an alternative wireless network connection, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if you are still experiencing the same issue?
We will be better equipped to provide further assistance by providing additional details; please keep us posted.
All the best,
Chel

I'm having this issue today after successfully casting from Windows 11 laptop to Roku TV for months, including last week. Today, it get's stuck while connecting.
I can't connect to any of the ROKU TVS in my office using Windows 11 laptop, but I can connect with an apple laptop. So, it's my WIndows laptop's issue, but I've reset the WIfi adapter and rebooted multiple times. What else should I try?- MitchB88 months agoNewbie
I'm also experiencing the issue. I had been casting past several months and then yesterday my Roku TV and Windows 11 laptop could not connect. I tried all the suggested fixes 😞

It's great to have you here, MitchB8!
Looks like you're running into some problems with screen mirroring on your Roku. Let’s get this sorted out!
Give this quick fix a shot and see if it helps solve the problem!
- Press Home on your Roku remote
- Scroll and select Settings
- Select Advanced system settings
- Select Network connection reset
- Select Reset connection
Once the network reset is finished, your Roku will reboot, and you'll have to go back to the Settings menu to set up your Wi-Fi all over again. After that, give the screen mirroring another shot and see if the problem is still there.
Let me know if that helps or if the issue persists, and we can explore more troubleshooting options.
