Roku wifi can’t connect

I have my Roku device connected toAn older TV without Wi-Fi via an HDMI cable.  The Roku remote can connect to the Roku device. I can select English as the language.  I can see my wireless network, but the Roku device does not connect to my Wi-Fi - all of the other Wi-Fi devices in my house, including two other Roku devices attached to TVs can connect to the same Wi-Fi network as they always have.  I’ve done a factory reset on the TV and I’ve done a reset on the Roku, but it’s still hangs when it tries to connect to the network after I provide the correct password. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

  • The failing device is a Roku Express 4K, about a year or two old.  I'm not seeing any codes displayed, just the message when it fails to connect to my wifi network (T-Mobile 5G), using the correct case-sensitive password.  I have unplugged and restarted the Roku device, done a factory reset for the Roku, the TV, and the WiFi router - they've worked fine up to last night.  The Roku CAN connect to my iPhone's WiFi personal hotspot.

      Hey Texasyankee

Thanks for reaching out to us.

We understand you're having a network issue and appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've tried. Since the mobile hotspot works with the Roku, it could be that the internet connection is congested. Can you share what specific bandwidths the TV is connected to? If it's currently on 2.4 GHz, try it on the 5 GHz or vice versa.

Still not working? You may need to contact your internet service provider for more troubleshooting.

Do you get any messages or codes when you try to connect?  It might also be helpful to know the model number that's written on the device or displayed under Settings->System->About.
