Roku volume button issue + receiver

Hello, I’ve just setup a new Roku 4k with my Vizio TV and Sony receiver. I cannot figure how to get the volume controls on the Roku remote to control the volume up/down/mute on my Sony receiver.

Currently setup as such: HDMI to Roku from receiver, HDMI to TV and optic cable from receiver to TV. Is this not possible? Are there too many connections?
