Roku Voice Remote Pro will not pair or charge

I bought a Roku Ultra 7 months ago.  It gas has been working fine until the other day.  The remote would not work when I tried to use it.  I tried repairing it without success.  I then thought to charge it.  The instructions state the LED will blink while charging  and turn solid once charged.  It has been over 24 hours and it is still blinking.  I decided to try pairing the remote to the player again.  When I press and hold the pairing button I get what appears to be a repeating code of 5 blinks, a pause, then 5 blinks again.   This continues as long as the pairing button remains depressed.

FWIW - while researching this issue here I saw this knowledge base article, "How to fix your Roku voice remote that is not working",  referenced several times.  It was helpful information, but did not fix my issue.

Can someone help?

  • By the way, this remote is the Roku Voice Remote Pro 2nd edition with USB recharging.

    The 2nd edition doesn't have a pairing button.  Are you sure that's the one you have?  You shouldn't keep holding the button - once the light starts flashing, release it.  It shouldn't take more than about 5 seconds.

  • I just looked again.  You are correct.  I referenced the wrong model.  Mine is Voice Remote Pro with rechargeable battery.  No matter how long I press the pairing button I get the same LED response - 5 short blinks.  I have 5 Roku Ultra's, so I have experience with this model.  It simply will not pair nor charge.

        Thank you for the link, renojim.  I was going to contact support like I had on other issues in the past, but I could not find the email or trouble ticket as I remembered it.  Only chat and a phone number.  Either I forget how it worked or something has changed.  The link is a help.  Thank you.
