ROKU voice remote pro rc701 not holding charge

Purchased my ROKU voice remote pro rc701 June 2022 and was working fine with my ROKU stick 3600X (Serial #5S4625204925) until recently. Initially noticed the remote problem when attempting to turn my VIZIO TV off. The remote would not do so. I figured I would charge it and try again. Once I connected the charging cable and tried to power off the TV, it worked. Leaving the remote to charge until I powered down the TV for that evening, I figuring the problem was solved. The next morning I attempted to turn on the TV with my remote (which was not plugged in for charging) it did not respond. I once again had to plug the charging cable in to turn the TV on.

Thoughts to remedy this issue? Thank you in advance.

I’m having the same problem. My remote only needed charging every couple of weeks and then in the last two weeks it has degenerated to needing charging every couple of hours. I don’t use the listening thing and rarely use the voice thing. This thing was too expensive to be used as a corded remote.

        Hi wadki249

Thanks for letting us know about the issue you are experiencing with your Roku Voice Pro. As suggested, have you tried to re-pair the remote and see if it helps? If still not resolved, kindly keep us posted with the serial number of your Roku device from Settings>System>About.

  • I’m having the exact same problem. I’ve tried to reset my voice remote pro with no luck and even tried letting it charge for an entire day, but it won't completely charge. The green light is blinking slowly, so it seems to be charging
The screen indicates that the battery is at 0% while the remote is charging.
It will now not charge past 0%!

The serial number for my roku is X01000519206

Please let me know what I can do to get it to charge.

    Thanks

  • I'm having the same issue.  I can't even use the remote unless it is plugged in now. and most of the time it still doesn't work. I don't want to keep needing to buy new remotes every couple of months.  Has the issue been fixed yet with the model: rc-mc1  ID: tc2-r1039 ?
