Roku Voice remote buttons have stopped working, only power and volume are functioning.

Roku Voice remote buttons have stopped working, only power and volume are functioning.  Remote is paired, can control power and volume only.  Remote is about 3 yrs old and issue started yesterday.  I've tried new batteries and redone pairing sequence.  Any ideas besides needing new remote?

    If a normal re-pairing us not successful, try pairing as a new device.

    Settings > Remotes & devices > (+) Add devices > Remote
