Had basically the same problem with it shutting down, losing sound and resetting. Went back and forth with Roku support and finally the sent me a replacement. They sent me a 4850R and looking at the one I had it was a 4850x, I am required to send the x back. They did send a label. Hope this helps

Thank you for the reply. Went round and round with them for a few hours today. They concluded that my device was old and I had to replace it. No coupon code, no discount. Given how long we've been users and given how many players we have...it's disappointing. As the rokus fail, we'll probably migrate over to the firestick. Hope you and yours have a blessed and grace-filled Thanksgiving.
