Roku Ultra w/ Voice Remote Pro Volume UP/DOWN Does Not Respond to Initial Command

Hi, it was about 3 weeks ago I tried to raise the volume when it didn't respond.  So I kept playing and it reacted like it was getting a slow connection.  The light on the TV would flicker and the volume would raise or lower and I would see the volume number come on the TV. Now I have to play with the remote to get it to work but still slow to respond and a delay  with the numbers showing up on the TV.

    Hi, Lrb2jr

Greetings, and welcome to the Roku Community.

We appreciate you sharing your concern about your Roku remote button not working, and we're here to help. To resolve the issue, we recommend performing the steps below.

    Reboot your voice remote

If your voice remote uses standard AA or AAA alkaline batteries, use the following steps to reboot your remote by removing and reinstalling the batteries.

    1. Remove the battery cover on the back of your remote
    2. Remove both batteries from the battery compartment
    3. Re-insert the negative (-) end of a battery first and then gently push the positive (+) end until the battery clicks into place
    4. Repeat the previous step to install the second battery
    5. Put the battery cover back on your remote

If your voice remote has a rechargeable battery, follow the steps below below to reboot your remote

    • If your rechargeable voice remote has a pairing button, press and hold the pairing button on the back of the remote for 20 seconds.
    • If your rechargeable voice remote does not have a pairing button, press and hold the Back

       and Home

       for 20 seconds.

Once this has been performed, re-pair your Roku remote to your Roku device.
