Roku ultra sometimes doesn’t respond to remote

Roku ultra intermittently stops responding to remote (both Roku remote and Logitech). Starts back responding after about 30 seconds. Anyone experiencing this/have ideas to resolve?

thx

Thank you for participating in the Roku Community, BLG56!

We appreciate your bringing this matter to our attention. To better assist you with the issue regarding your Roku remote, could you kindly specify which model of the Roku Ultra you are using? Are you using the Roku Ultra 2024? Additionally, if you could provide the model of your Roku remote, it would greatly help us in addressing your concern.

    Thank you for your cooperation!

    Best regards,

  • BLG56The remote uses WiFi direct to communicate with the player so I'm curious if you've tried using a network app like WiFi Analyzer for Android or something similar if you have an IOS device. Once installed it will show you how many others use same channel/band as you. If there's lots of congestion you can log into the router and switch to a channel with less. Most people use the default Auto-channel select which means the router is constantly changing channels. Best practices is manual channel selection while monitoring with the network app. Hope that helps

I don’t see any iOS apps that do the analysis you mention. However, I also determined what is happening is as follows:  the remote (Roku or Harmony) sends a signal and (intermittently) the Roku Uktra is delayed responding. For example, I select pause and 10-20 seconds later the Ultra paused the video.

SOLVED. After replacing batteries and testing WiFi, I determined the remote was the issue. Replaced with new remote and problem is fixed.
