Roku TV Turns Off At Startup

This was a community problem a few months ago. Support was looking at it. I offered my TV for use in testing. The problem went away.

Now the problem is back. Yesterday I dismissed it as maybe my error. It happened again this morning. When restarted all is OK. I haven't checked the update history but I'm guessing.......

Anyone else?

I don't have a video. Basically, When the TV is turned on and the home screen comes up, the set turns off when you rocker right to make a selection. It could also be shutting down by time but I haven't tested that. This was an issue a few months ago for many. I volunteered my TV for testing and submitted the necessary information. Today the set was fine but not so the previous two days.

Thanks for keeping us posted, Tater5

Could you let me know how you are powering your Roku TV? Is it through a power strip or directly into a power outlet? Additionally, how frequently does the issue occur?

        Keep us posted.

        Thanks,

  • Hi there - I barely use my 65" Class Select Series 4K since I purchased it last year. I recently turned it on after many months, and it worked fine for the first 20 minutes or so. Right after it turned off, and when I tried turning it back on, it got into an endless loop of turning on, at the starting Roku screen, and then off, back on and then off. I went through the Roku link that suggests taking it back to factory reset by pressing into the back reset button with a pin. Followed directions and kept it pressed for well over 30 seconds, but nothing changed after I released the press. Unplugging and plugging the TV back hasn't worked either. Can Roku suggest next steps?

Its likely it will take quite some time to hear from her, so you'll need to have patience. How old is the TV and have you spoken to the retailer that sold it?

Hi thanks for the reply. She had posted on the tracker that there was a solution and it was fixed. Said to PM her but there is no way to do that. She said they had sent out some updates to people and it had fixed their problem.

    • I'm having the same problem.
    • I've already checked for updates, sleep timers, new versions for the YouTube I was using, restarted the system twice, however every time this happens the screen is freezing, and after a few seconds it completely shuts off and hard restarts. I am confident that a Roku update has created this problem perhaps Roku should look at rolling back the latest update until they can fix this glitch. Thank you for any technical advice.
