Roku TV remote questions ( roku )

My aunt has some sever disabilities and has been moved into an assisted living place that has Riku TVs. She is having trouble with the Roku remote. So I have two questions, one, if she had a unive...

    Not unless you change the TV to tune to LIVE TV on power up:

     

    settings> setup> power> power on> LIVE TV

     

    As for what universal remote to get, I suggest the Insignia 3-Device which is on sale $10 off at $19.99:

    The Roku tv code is TV 4398. The numeral commands 0-9 will preset via this code.

Remember once you leave Guide or one of the Live tv channels and go to Roku Home, or app like Netflix, you can't just enter number to get back to live tv channels. I can give discrete command for Live tv you can map to unused key on Insigina universal remote. Code is 00100 for Live tv, to map it on the Insignia remote:

 

1. TV

2. press and hold SETUP for two blinks

3. enter 9 9 4

4. tap SETUP for one blink

5. enter 0 0 1 0 0 

6. pick unused key like RED 

 

Now no matter where your mother is on the Roku tv on-screen menu, pressing RED will take her back to live tv channels.
