Roku TV remote questions ( roku )

My aunt has some sever disabilities and has been moved into an assisted living place that has Riku TVs. She is having trouble with the Roku remote.

So I have two questions, one, if she had a universal remote with a number pad and typed in, say, 23, would it skip to channel 23?

If so, my follow up question is what is the best universal remote to use with a Roku TV. Large buttons are best.

    Hi linercapr,

Thanks for your first post in the Roku Community!

We appreciate your effort in inquiring about the Roku remote with a numeric pad.

Currently, we do not have information to share about this, and Roku remote does not support a numeric pad. Perhaps Tivoburkee can provide a suggestion or recommendation as he's our resident Community remote Expert.

We will forward your valuable feedback to the Roku team. Don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or additional feedback.

    Best regards,
    Mary

Remember once you leave Guide or one of the Live tv channels and go to Roku Home, or app like Netflix, you can't just enter number to get back to live tv channels. I can give discrete command for Live tv you can map to unused key on Insigina universal remote. Code is 00100 for Live tv, to map it on the Insignia remote:

        1. TV

        2. press and hold SETUP for two blinks

        3. enter 9 9 4

        4. tap SETUP for one blink

        5. enter 0 0 1 0 0

        6. pick unused key like RED

Now no matter where your mother is on the Roku tv on-screen menu, pressing RED will take her back to live tv channels.
