Roku TV does not support SAP (Secondary Audio Program)

How do I turn on SAP (Secondary Audio Program) on my Roku TV?  I am visually impaired , and that feature makes watching tv much more enjoyable.

  • Hi KittyGreene,

Thanks for the inquiry, and welcome to the Roku Community!

The preferred audio language selection determines which audio track you hear when watching content from a provider like The Roku Channel. Keep in mind that it is the responsibility of each channel provider to translate the content they offer. If your preferred audio language is not supported by a channel provider, content in that channel will typically be presented with an audio track in the original language of each title.

Use the following instructions to change the preferred audio language.

    1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
    2. Scroll and select Settings.
    3. Select Audio.
    4. Select Audio preferred language.
    5. Choose the language for spoken audio.

That doesn't really help at all. We want to get to the SAP of a show that may contain descriptive audio in English. So selecting English in the manner you describe will get the Primary English language channel, but not the *Secondary* English audio track. How do you reach the Secondary audio program?
