Roku turns off when it scans for wifi

Hi! I just moved my roku from my TV at home to my projector at college. When I was trying it at home it worked great, but now, I obviously am not connected to the same wifi. When I go through settings to set up a new connections my roku works up until I select "wireless" and it briefly begins its "wireless scan" before shutting off and giving my projector a "no signal" message. I have left the roku on with nothing going on for 20 minutes and it doesnt randomly shut off. It only does this when I do a network connection reset or when i try to connect it to the new network. I can still access all of my apps fine but none of them work, clearly since I have no internet. Please help!
