Roku right arrow button doesnt work

Hello, I was about to buy a new remote bc my right button does not work well and has been hurting my hand bc I have to use alot of force to make it work, I tried new batteries, repairing my remote, cleaning underneath the buttons, unplugging my roku stick, and yet nothing has worked, then as I googled about what I could do to fix it I noticed most of the comments in this community discussion is all about the same button..i guess maybe a manufacturer problem with the remotes, so may I please get a new remote, I tried to private message but seems I am not able to do so. Thank you

  • Same problem, Clearly a hardware problem - so I bought a replacement remote, and then it did same thing within month?! I contacted roku support and after an hour of back and forth they finally agreed to replace it.. but then closed the ticket without sending !!@# Thankfully the store let me return it even though it was outside their normal return window. I've given up and ordered a fire stick instead even though it doesn't do everything I want.

Welcome to the Roku Community, Piascikm!

Thank you for notifying us about the Roku remote arrow button. We're here to help!

Before we dive in, could you let us know which Roku TV or player this remote is paired with? Also, is this the original remote that came with it?

We also suggest resetting your Roku remote by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. After doing so, pair it again and try using the right arrow to see if this makes any difference.

In the meantime, you may install the Roku mobile app as an alternative to your physical remote. This works well with your Roku streaming device, which has a voice command feature.

Let us know how it goes and we'll go from there.

    Best regards,
    Jharra

My remote is paired with the roku express 4k, and this is the original remote it came with. I tried resetting the remote and pairing it again but that did not work. Could you please help me out. Thank you.

Why aren’t you guys listening to the customers and  replacing the remote or fixing the actual issue ? Clearly hundreds if not thousands of people are having issues with the remote, specifically the right arrow button. Which is why I am now on this thread. Can you please provide a phone number or email to request a delivery of a new remote ?

  • Hello,

I am having trouble with my recently purchased Roku voice remote control.  When I try to use the right button, nothing happens.  When I try to turn volume up, the tv turns off.  I have tried unplugging device, changing batteries on remote, did a network connection reset, re-paired remote, and have not had any luck.  Anyone have any ideas?  I am pretty disappointed that I am having issues so soon after purchase.

Sad to see I'm not alone in this I've bought extra remotes because of it. Too bad Roku seems happier ignoring the problem than fixing it

  • RokuJharra-Q , I'm having the same issues and this is the second remote in my home that has the same issue same model same everything it has been repaired countless amount of times. Do you finally have a solution for this considering this question was sent to you guys a while back?

I have a Roku express with voice remote. The right button doesn't work very well. You have to push very hard and if you are lucky it works. All the rest of the buttons work fine. After seeing that there are a lot of people with the same problem, how can it be fixed? I don't want to purchase another one when that is the only problem. HELP ME PLEASE!!

having exact same issue! Tried all ‘troubleshooting’ issues, but still can’t love it to the right- not seeing any solutions that worked- did anyone have success at fixing ?
      thanks

I am using a voice activated remote and it is the right arrow that is not responsive. I have tried to re-pair the remote. I don't see a pairing button on the back of the remote.

I have a standard Roku remote…the left arrow key will not work…I have reset and repaired the remote 3 times..lit does not help. The remote is useless in thus mode you can nit select what you want to watch because you can nit mive the cursor on the screen….

  • I have the same problem. My streaming stick was out of warranty, but customer service was helping me with the resolution since. I have 6 devices in my home. After a little complaining they decided to send me a replacement remote. Keep you updated with results.
