Roku remote operating volume on Onn sound bar

I just purchased a new Highsense Roku tv and a Onn sound bar. The sound bar is connected with the optical cord. Is there a way to operate the volume with the Roku remote instead of the separate sound bar remote?

    Get a universal remote like One-For-All urc-7935 streamer remote:

     

     

    It's a one device remote that actually can control three devices, tv, Streamer, and Soundbar. Different areas of the remote are for different type of devices. Check ebay:

    Sorry but no. Roku remotes only control Tv's by IR. If your Soundbar were connected via hdmi, then might be able to control it via cec. But optical, no way.

      I get that. But the Onn sound bar does not have an HDMI port. I tried hdmi to usb because there is a usb port on the sound bar. That connection did not produce sound.
