Roku remote menu navigation issues

I am having problems with my Roku remote when navigating any menu...but only when I try to navigate downward in the menu.

If I attempt to navigate upwards or left/right, it works just fine. But when I attempt to navigate downwards, sometimes it will move downward with a single button. Sometimes, it takes 2-3 or more button pushes to move down one slot on the menu.

From my perspective, it seems like the down button is all but worn out and only performs the appropriate action on occasion. But I would like some assistance trying to determine if that's the issue or is something else causing the issue.
