Roku Remote intermittently stops responding

Based on the number if reported issues in this forum, there is clearly a problem with the remote. Mine intermittently stops responding to everything but volume control, voice, power, and home, I have tired every troubleshooting table I can find, even buying a new remote. NOt only did I try one HDMI extension, but I also tried 2, Today I downloaded the Roku app for my Iphone and found with the remote quit responding, the app worked. I can't see myself purchasing another Roku product,
