Roku Remote Control Compatibility
I am at a loss of what to do regarding my setup, and if my Roku remote is capable of controlling everything. Here is my setup:
Samsung: UN50KU6300F MFD date FEB 2017
Soundbar: HW-Q65C MFD date MAR 2025
Roku Ultra Player with Voice Remote pro: 4850X
My Roku is plugged into the soundbar via HDMI cable, and then another HDMI cable from soundbar to HDMI ARC/CEC port.
I set everything up through Roku and my TV for my ROKU remote to turn everything off and on and have volume control. Have sound selection output set to HDMI on my TV. Anynet+ is set to ON as well. On the ROKU advanced system settings the auto adjust refresh rate is set to on, HDR Subsampling is set on 4:2:2, and HDR is set to “always on” Display type is set to automatic. I’m not sure if any of these settings are affecting my issue. My ROKU remote will power and control everything fine for a few days, and then all of a sudden will just stop working to power the tv and soundbar off and on, which causes me to have to use multiple remotes to turn everything off. I’ve tried unplugging all power and HDMI cables to reset everything, sometimes it will work and sometimes it will not. I have replaced HDMI cables as well and made sure they were 4K 2.1 cables, still the same result. I have even returned my soundbar cause it was still under warranty and that did not fix the issue either. Could the problem be that my TV’s HDMI ARC port is going bad? Or is something not communicating correctly? Don’t know if my TV is too old and can’t support this? I’m at my wits end with this and I really don’t want to buy another TV, and maybe there is something I am missing but I have been dealing with this for a couple months and am getting tired of dealing with it
