The software on my Roco smart TV was updated in mid-December (or so). Since that time (I can only suspect), while watching live OTA Broadcast TV, the info screen pops up without prompting. (This is the portion of the screen at the bottom that has info about signal strength, current time, the name of the show current being watched, the plot synopsis, etc.) This happens about 90 seconds into a newly chosen channel and also about 90 seconds after a new show starts on the same channel. This is VERY annoying! I KNOW WHAT I'M WATCHING! ...;and if I don't, I can hit the "OK" on my remote and get this screen for myself.
Coupled with this problem........when I'm brousing through the channels for a show to watch, after some period of time -- before I'm through brousing -- it kicks me out of the channel brousing screen and back to the channel and show having been selected previously. This is EXTREMELY annoying! If I want to continue to brouse, I have to start all over again.
EXACTLY!!! Thought about resetting to factory settings but with this post and the fact that other problems over the last couple of years have netted zero results to clear such problems, I'll be waiting for the next fix from Roku OS programmers.

Same. Not a marketing message There is a timeout period on the guide. Unwanted program info popup. Is this what Roku TV is like? It's a bad time.

This never use to happen and again since our last software update everyone appears to be experiencing the unwanted popups as well as menu partially show no information. This is pretty bad that everyone is experiencing this regardless what Roku tv the have and yet Roku is not doing anything to resolve the matter. I am now regretting that I purchased four TV's and they all have this new issue. It forces us not to want to watch regular TV programming or Roku menu programing and stick to Netflix or prime. The only solution I have not tried is the reset to original. And what happens when the TV goes through it's normal update process. Back to the problem at hand and now you have to readd and re log in to all your apps. Poor solution option.

So it seems that this issue has been resolved with the latest update yesterday which auto updated for me by Noon Eastern(the only thing besides the pop-up issue that I see different is that it added a 'Picture Off')-choice in settings which was kinda random, but whatever-lol. As I mentioned in previous comments I purposely hid the streaming channels due to the fact that the pop-up was so annoying(that with this issue the OTA channels were More than Enough to deal with)-since the update I've added them back and Voila, haven't seen the dreaded pop-up since...Yeah!!!
