Roku mobile app freezes and wont connect to headphone mode

I use headphone mode using the roku mobile app every night since getting my hisense roku TV a few months ago. Suddenly about a week or two ago,  I tried to open the app and it kept freezing on me and...

Is this on the Android version of the Roku app, or the iOS version?   We seem to have more problems reported with the iOS version.

Did you restart the phone between uninstalling and reinstalling the app?  That can make sure all traces of the original installation are removed.
