Roku is suddenly not working

Roku worked fine and then it didn't. I've unplugged everything and retarted it several times but still nothing. The light is on but when I push home nothing happens other than flashing light. please help.

  • Hey Ellenem

We noticed that your Roku device suddenly stopped working. Here's what to do if your Roku streaming player will not power on:

    Check the status light:

    1. No light at all: It may not be getting power.
    2. White light is on, but no picture: Your Roku is on—check your TV’s input.
    3. Solid red light: Your device is too hot. Unplug it and let it cool.
    4. Flashing red light: It's not getting enough power. Plug it into a wall outlet.

    If using a wall outlet:

    1. Use the right power adapter: We strongly recommend using the one that came with your Roku player.
    2. Reconnect the power cable: Unplug it, then plug it back in.
    3. Try a different wall outlet: Your outlet may not work. Test with another device to be sure.
    4. Avoid power strips: Plug directly into the wall for a more reliable power source.
    5. Still no power: Your adapter might be faulty. If your device is under warranty, contact Roku support. You can also purchase an adapter in the accessories store.

If using your TV's USB port: Use the original USB cable > Reconnect the USB cable > Try a different USB port on your TV >Test with another TV > Try using a wall outlet instead.

Let us know if that works!

  • The system is a Roku Express 4K+, the tv screen is blank and the remote turns the tv on, the blue light flashes but nothing else happens.
