Roku error 16 whenever I turn on the TV even though it has an excellent wifi connection

This started a few days ago. Every time I turn on the TV (default is to watch OTA TV) I get the message that it doesn't have internet connection (error 16) even though it shows wifi connection excellent in setting and Alexa control works fine proving that the internet connection is good. I've tried restarting and also unplugging from power and then restarting. I'm an IT tech so please understand that when I say wifi is working and the TV has working internet access, it really does. I checked and there is no pending software/firmware update needed according to the menus. (last update was 10/16/2024) unless the update broke something. Software version 14.1 build 4.3200-EG

    Are you using any kind of content blocker on your network?  I've noticed that Roku devices will claim they don't have an Internet connection when they can't reach some site.  I never tried to figure out exactly which site it was.

      Nothing is blocked.  BTW - I can turn it on and off via alexa proving internet is good.  What I've found is I  turn it on and the message comes up.  I turn the TV off and then back on and it's fine.   I'm also missing some local channels that I can only get if I change my zipcode to another state and rescan my channels.  I can get 33.1 - 33.4 but I cannot get 33.7 (all in Miami) unless I change my zipcode state.  Then I can get channel 33.7 but many of the channels don't get the program info until I rescan for my zipcode and then lose 33.7
      Roku needs some serious firmware updates!!  Cheap TV - you get what you pay for.  My old Roku stick (no longer supported) worked great.

        The problem with missing channels appears to be because of a problem with the guide that gets downloaded.  If the guide doesn't include the channels, they go missing.  Changing the ZIP code gets a different guide that may include the channels, but obviously it causes other problems.
