Roku does not respond up turning on TV

When we turn on the TV with the remote, the green Roku Hisense screen comes on, but then becomes black.  We have tried unplugging the TV and plugging it back in after 30 seconds, but there is no change in the status.  Any ideas as to what we can do to resolve this?  We have had the TV for about 3 1/2 years, and this is the first time the issue has occurred.
