Solved

Roku displays but won't play anything but Netflix

I have reset the modem, turned on and off TV, used a different hdmi port.I reset the system. When I click on something, such as cbs news, it looks like it is going there, then returns to the menu screen  or Live TV menu. Started with Prime not working. I've also checked the date. Using brand new 4K streaming stick. 

Now what? Is it the streaming stick?

    Let's see if this will work for you.
     
    1. Remove and Reinstall the app. Often, that can clear up the problem. Restarting your Roku device before adding the app back can also help make sure everything goes smoothly.
    2. Restart your Roku device/TV
      Navigate to Settings, then select System, followed by Power, or click on System Restart.
    In addition, I recommend taking a closer look at the troubleshooting provided by our support page here on how to resolve the channel playback issues.
