Roku Device model 3939x not working after factory reset

I was using a streaming device on my TV with a simple Roku remote that I bought from Walmart. It paired just fine when I bought it. However my streaming device was logged into somebody else’s Roku account, so I factory data reset it to try to log into my own Roku account. now the remote will not connect to the device. I looked it up on YouTube and it said to push the back button and the home button at the same time, for five seconds.  that is not working. I’ve already tried all of the troubleshooting suggestions that it says on the Internet. I’ve unplugged my streaming device. I’ve removed the batteries from my remote. I reset my streaming device and nothing is working. It turns on and is stuck on the screen where it lets me pick the language, but I can’t pick the language because The remote won’t pair.

Need to double check your model number (3939 not a valid model).

However, there are different Voice Remotes and different ways of pairing them.  If your remote has batteries, try removing the back cover and see if there is a little button in there. (if so, that is your pairing button).

On some Roku models, the remote is an IR-only remote (Simple/Players remote) so no pairing is necessary. (just point at device/line of sight).

Verify your Roku model number and post back if needing more help.

that was an error. I'm at 3930X. There is no button and pointing out it and pushing the button buttons isn’t working.

I hate to ask, but did you try replacing the batteries?  Sometimes just swapping them around (and making sure they are in the correct way) will sometimes get it working also.

I had to do the above with my Ultra 4660 all the time until I upgraded the remote.  It would stop responding until I popped the batteries out and swapped left to right.  Other times a good whack on the table or a knee would get it working again.

edited to add... the 3930 is an Express HD so would have come with a Simple IR remote.  No pairing necessary.
