Roku device insufficient power error

I am so sick of dealing with this POS. If it's not making me unplug everything because of an HDMI error, I am getting a insufficient power error. Their solution is to plug it into a wall outlet. If you want me to plug it into a wall outlet, then make the cord longer. Anyone else having these problems?

An insufficient power source will cause all kinds of strange problems.  Use a USB power adapter that can supply at least 1 Amp (1000mA).  There's nothing wrong with using a good old-fashioned extension cord.

That's what I'm doing. It won't reach the wall so I have it plugged into a power strip that only has one other thing plugged into it.

Great! Did it help? It's hard to predict exactly how a device without enough power will behave - I think it's roughly analogous to a human without quite enough oxygen.
