Roku captions keep covering other apps set caption

The captions that r default for apps no longer show up but r removed nd covered by rokus built in captioning system. I absolutely hate it and i cannot get true accuracy with names nd words that r exclusive to specific shows so instead they show up spelled wrong or just plain incorrect. I wish their was an option to completely remove the captions on the roku so i could enjoy the normal captions built into the different apps and channels.
