If your Roku device has a "Power Savings Feature" under Settings/System/Power, try disabling it. (this 20-min power savings setting) has been reported to have some undesired effects on HDMI. (which in turn, may affect the HDMI CEC).

    Hi Walt_1,

    Thanks for letting us know.

Is the Roku app's remote feature the one you're using to control the power of the TV? Have you made any recent changes to your network? Please be aware that the Roku app should be connected to the same network as your mobile phone for the app to work. You can refer to this support article here for additional information regarding the Roku mobile app.
We'll appreciate you elaborating on this concern.

    Regards,
    Janadee

Thanks for the info. Yes I have changed network but both the TV and Roku are on the same network.

Very unusual. I am able to use the Roku remote but the Roku App just does not work for power it works fine for changing channels

The Roku Mobile App can only power on/off a RokuTV.  It cannot power off a TV with a Roku device that is connected to a TV via HDMI.

It is possible to turn on the TV if the Roku device has 1-touch play enabled. (Settings/System/Control other Devices/1-touch play).  Both the Roku device has to have this CEC feature enabled, as well as the TV has to have its HDMI CEC capability enabled.

In the above scenario, the Mobile app is actually waking the Roku device and the CEC is turning the TV on and switching to appropriate HDMI port.

Still won't be able to turn TV off with the mobile app though.
