Roku and Panasonic TV both connected to Marantz receiver - Roku won't turn on/off TV

I replaced my Roku stick from 2018. I had my old Roku remote set up to turn the TV off and on. Both the Roku and the Pansonic TV are connected to HDMI ports in a Marantz AV receiver. The Marantz AV has the surround sound speakers and everything else. Essentially, the TV is just a big monitor. We don't use it as a tv. The pairing instructions for the Roku and TV remote don't work because the Roku is not plugged into the TV. We had it working with the old Roku but since we set that up in 2018, we have no idea how we did it. Any thoughts?

    Did the old remote control the AV receiver (power/mute/volume) or just turn the TV off/on?  If it only controlled the TV's power, plug the stick into the TV and set up the TV controls and then return to receiver's HDMI output.

      Thank you for suggesting to plug the Roku into the TV to set up the TV controls. Its very possible that's what we did in 2018. I will try that at some point. I'm not sure if the old Roku remote controlled the TV volume, we never used it for that, only power on/off.
