Roke Premiere+ 4630X replacement remote needed
I have a Premiere+ 4630X from a few years ago (2017 I believe). It came with an RF remote (Roku model RC96, internal model RC-GR3) which has recently packed it in. The pair light refuses to stop blinking and it cannot interact with the box. I've tried updating, resetting the box, and removing the batteries, all to no avail. Anyway, I dislike using the Roku app to work my box and need a new remote.
My questions:
1) Will the current gen WiFi remote work my device?
2) Will the new remote interfere with a Roku TV I have in another room?
3) Anyone know of a replacement RF remote from a 3rd party I could buy? I'd rather prefer that option, and have looked for a 2nd hand OEM on ebay, but they all come included with another box, which I don't need.
I ask these things because my box is no longer supported by Roku and I am wondering if that lack of support extends to the current crop of remotes. Thanks in advance!
- Any current (and practically every old) Roku remote will work with your 4630 - there's two voice remotes (RF) and the simple remote (IR).
- No. RF remotes have to be paired to the Roku device and can only be paired to one Roku device at a time. IR remotes will affect any device within their line of sight, but Roku simple remotes don't work with Roku TVs.
- I've only seen one 3rd party RF remote on Amazon and it doesn't get good reviews. It's not a voice remote and doesn't have TV controls.
