remote wont control sound harmon/kardon surround

I just got the TCL 65 inch Class S4 [65S41BR] 4K UHD HDR LED Smart Tv/ROKU tv . I hooked into my harmon/kardon AVR 247 reciever /surround with sub woofer system .  I have SOUND coming out of the system but the remote doesnt control volume .  Im using an optic cable plugged into Opital 1 . Can anyone help me with this ? Explained like Im 5 ? Thank you for your help and your time

    Sorry, Roku remotes can't control the volume of an AVR unless it's connected via HDMI/ARC and supports CEC.  You could get a universal remote that can control both the TV and the AVR.
