Remote Voice Remote and Stick 4K do not Pair

The remote that came with the new Streaming Stick 4K SKU# 3820R2 does not pair to the stick.

I've tried everything multiple times.  There are flashing lights on the stick and the remote. The process is stuck at "Pair your remote"

I bought the stick to replace an overheating ROKU Ultra.

 

Shall I return this equipment?

    I originally connected the USB cable to a USB port on a power strip.

    I have since connected the USB cable to the ROKU supplied 110v USB adapter.  

    Everything works perfectly now!

    Did come with the original usb cable with the bump in it? And are you using it? If not then it will never pair because the remote communicates with usb bump, not the stick itself.

      I installed the new 4K stick, the new USB cable with the bump and the new remote. The process hangs at "Pair your remote" with both the stick and the remote flashing.
