Remote totally dead and none of the procedures to reset it do anything

My remote used to work, but after several months of not using it, it is completely dead.  I changed batteries.  I tried the pairing button, but the green light never flashes.  I tried home+back to reset, but no response.  It is dead.

  I've read every article but no luck.  How do I get you to send me one that works?

    During "several months of not using" the remote, the batteries may have leaked, creating a white crust that prevents the batteries from making electrical contact.  I've had this happen with a number of battery operated devices over the years.

    If this applies to you, you may find that scraping the crust off the remote's battery contacts with a screwdriver blade or similar object, you may restore its ability to make contact with a fresh set of batteries.
