remote suddenly stopped working

Old remote stopped working even with new batteries; a new remote doesnt work either.  How do I get the remotes to work?

    Conrad1-

    What did you get for your new Roku remote?   If the new remote is a point-and-shoot (no Voice) remote for Roku streaming devices it won't work with your Roku TV because Roku TVs respond to a different set of infrared commands than separate Roku devices do
