I pinged my Roku remote because kid like to hide things, and now it will not stop playing the sound once a minute. How do I get it to stop for good?

I went to ping my remote because I couldn’t find it. Found the remote works fine BUT about every 30 seconds it peeps again like it’s still lost really loud too.Are you going to post the instructions on how to unping it or do we keep trying different things because it sounds like we are all having the exact same problem. So instructions on how to make it stop beeping once remote is found would be great!Thank you,

Hi RokuDanny-R ,I am not sure what "new" specifics you need from me. This post is filled with all the specifics.Basically somehow my remote is ringing all the time, as if it is lost. The tv screen shows pinging all the time. Only way I can stop the remote ringing is to take the batteries out. I tried resetting, pairing again, nothing helped, just like everyone else here.At least acknowledge if there was a software update that created this issue and we will wait for the fix.Looking forward for your instruction for a fix.Thank you,Sushil

I did try turning off both Roku and my router. It didn't help. I even did factory reset of my Roku. Even after reset, the Roku says something like"can't ping remote unless it's paired first". That makes me think, the problem is in the Roku box, not the remote. Also the problem is at the root level, that even survives a factory reset.I've been using Roku for over 10 years. I never had any issue. When I do now, I'm baffled by the irresponsibility and complete apathy of Roku.

I have a Roku TV and have the same problem. I used my android phone app to initiate finding the remote. Now it won't ever stop pinging. [edit]Rebooting the TV fixed the problem.

I tried to re-pair my remote in hopes of getting the remote finder signal to stop. Nothing works. After 60 seconds it begins the remote finder signal again. I press any key, it stops. Then 60 seconds later is starts again. How to stop it?

Hi I had the same problem.. go to your options in Roku and go to settings. Then system.. then go to power and hit system restart . Problem fixed

  Good suggestion. I was in an endless loop of pings. Removing the remote batteries (and pairing again), ensuring the "find remote" button is not stuck, and even unplugging the Roku, none of those suggestions worked.
  
  Using Restart from the System menu solved the problem.

Try taking the batterys out for a minute.
Is the button on the Roku stuck down?

    When you say pinging your remote I'm assuming you mean the "Find remote" sounds.
    Are you sure the button on the Roku isnt jammed down??? press it a few times.
    Settings/remotes & devices/Remotes/remote>> play with these settings like change the sound a few times..
    What happens when you take the batterys out ... you should need to re- PAIR.

I temporarily cleared the ringing by pressing the OK button, then pinged I again when it wasn't ringing so it would reset the loop. That seemed to work :)

I was finally able to get the pinging to stop by restarting the Roku. I went to settings in the Roku and hit restart. That's the only thing that worked.

  fixed it by going to settings-system -power -restart system
