Remote not controlling my Samsung tv but it did yesterday.

I have a Samsung tv with a Roku hooked up to it. Everything has been fine until yesterday. The Roku did a reset on its own and now the remote works but will not control the tv volume or power on/off.
I have tried everything. Repairing the remote several times, unplugging the tv, factory resetting the Roku, adding a new device in the system menu, and still nothing.
any help would be appreciated.

just in case my serial number is SODD338D1NKR and the model is 4801X

    Hi, rikb007

Greetings, and welcome to the Roku Community.

I understand the issue you have experienced with your Roku remote that no longer controls the TV's power and volume, and I'm here to help you resolve the issue.

Let's set your remote once again.

How to set up your voice remote after initial setup and activation

After your Roku device is activated and set up, you can access the settings menu at any time to set up your voice remote to control your TV. If your Roku device is connected to an AVR or soundbar, we recommend temporarily connecting it directly to your TV during setup to successfully detect the brand of your TV.

    1. Press Home

       on your Roku voice remote
    2. Scroll and select Settings
    3. Select Remotes & devices
    4. Select Remote
    5. Choose your voice remote from the list and select Set up remote for TV control
    6. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process

I hope this helps, and let us know what you find out.

    Thanks,
    The Roku Community Team.
