Remote extension

I have my roku express in one room but want to use in another room but my WiFi doent reach that room . Instead of running a expensive ethernet cable and second wireless router I left roku in room where it can get WiFi signal and connected it to tv in room I wanted by coax but can't get remote to work . Being a former satellite tech I tried a trick using a splitter behind tv with little antenna on side of splitter to send remote signal back to roku but it didn't work . Is there anyway to get remote to work?

    You might find it easier to use the Roku app on your phone/tablet as a remote.  As long as your phone/tablet is connected to the same network you should be able to use it anywhere.

    If the express is model other than the 3700, which only uses an IR only remote, you can purchase separately wifi voice remote pair it to the express. The remote should go through walls.

        Yes it's true roku remote sold separately in stores like Walmart or best buy and online from Amazon. Model is the rc-al7r.
