Hi Sprout
Thanks for letting us know!
Could you please provide me with a bit more information to help me assist you further? Specifically, I need the following details:
- What is the model number of the remote?
- When and where did you purchase the remote? Did it come with a Roku TV or a Roku device?
- What steps have you taken so far to troubleshoot the issue, aside from restarting the device? For example, have you changed the batteries or updated the software?
In the meantime, I recommend using the Roku mobile app as an alternative remote for your Roku device. It's free and you can download the app using this link.
Let's work together on this!

Model#3941X2 Changed batteries updated software remote came with Roku express. I tried a remote from my other Roku express Works perfect on the same tv! So it is not the tv or the batteries or the software. It is the mechanics of the remote ,Like all the others that have the same problem and have said the same thing.Takes more pressure applied to all buttons but the down button is terrible! The other remote a fly could land on the buttons and they would work this is really not that hard to understand.

Hi again! Sprout
Got your point!
Just a quick heads-up: We need to gather that info to ensure that the issue isn’t related to the software or device. Since you mentioned that other remotes are functioning perfectly on your device, could you please share when and where you purchased this particular remote? Also, the model number of the remote itself.
Thanks for your understanding and patience!
