Remote doesn't have a pairing button

I lost the remote that came with my roku device. I bought a replacement remote at Walmart and brought it home. All the instructions online,  the instructions in my roku device, all say the same thing:

"Press the pairing button" 

One problem, THERE IS NO PAIRING BUTTON. 

I spent 15 minutes growing increasingly frustrated trying to figure out how the **bleep** to make it work.

With zero help from the internet or these forums i figured out:

If you hold the back arrow and the home button at the same time for a few seconds, the green light starts to blink and you can pair the remote.
