Regular remote will not pair
I got a brand new Roku express with a regular remote. It is not pairing to the Roku. I am stumped on how to figure out why it isn’t pairing.

There is no pairing needed, it works or doesn't. You need a line of sight from front of the remote to the Roku, it can't be buried in the back of the TV. To check if the remote is good or not, point it at your cellphone camera if you see flashes when you press a key it's working, no flashes it's broken.
