Re: The past 7-10 days, Roku TV has started lagging and buffering.
As other users have stated, this is a real problem. I have Roku, Fire, and Apple TV devices on the same network. My Roku TVs just arrived out of storage, so they haven't been connected to the internet or used for months. Both are well-packed. They started just fine. The 40" Hisense model has slowed down to the point of unresponsive. The TCL model isn't so bad.
Performed the Factory Reset. The update applied, and the apps reloaded. The device started to slow down.
Unhappy since I was so careful with it.
Hi Ksandiego,
Thanks for keeping us posted and welcome to the Roku Community!
We acknowledge the issue you had with the Roku TV, which was lagging and buffering. We're happy to help.
Please try the troubleshooting steps below:
- Power cycle the Roku device for 30 seconds.
- Restart the router.
- You can reset your Roku device's network connection by going to Settings > Advanced System Settings > Network connection reset > Reset connection.
- Note: Before doing so, make sure you know your Wi-Fi credentials.
- After the network reset, your Roku device will restart, and you will need to return to the Settings menu to set up your wireless network again.
You can connect your streaming device to a mobile hotspot as a temporary workaround to prevent an issue from occurring.
We would recommend trying to see if that resolves your issue. Please keep us posted.
Best,
The Roku Community Team
