Typically a Roku remote controls power, volume up/down and mute on a TV. Choosing an input is usually done with the TV remote.
If you like HDMI-CEC, that can be another option. Make sure 1-touch play is activated on the Roku, and AnyNet+ is activated on the Samsung, and pressing Roku buttons such as home should send an HDMI-CEC signal to the TV. if it's not working, look for an option like "refresh" under the Anynet+ settings on the TV.
