Private listening / headphone

I have used this feature for several years. It all of a sudden quit working on all devices. I have restarted private listening, restarted the Roku app, done a system restart, and tried the sound delay fix. Nothing has corrected it.

Thank you for your response. That article did not address my issue. I do not have a soundbar and I'm rarely using headphones. Rather just having the sound come through my phone. When I hit the headphones icon, it looks as though it's starting private listening, but there is no sound and then it leaves private listening after a few seconds. I have done all of the other troubleshooting.

  • I just posted this elsewhere so you can go read that if you search. But it’s because the phone is querying the cellular network. As a test try putting your phone in airplane mode then re-enable just wifi. Make sure it’s not connected to your provider. Now give it a try and see if the disconnections are gone. If so, you can then go into your phones settings for that app and disable cellular use. Not in the Roku app though, I’m the phones settings. Your basically disallowing the Roku app from ever using cellular.
