This has already been raised then closed by Roku against the wishes of your users. The app used to have a power option in the top right hand of the screen to turn the Roku box off and on. This has now vanished. The "SOLUTION" was that the apple app had never had it. That's not a solution, that's fobbing your users off. You took it out you can put it back so do so and stop fobbing off your user base. BTW! All the screen shots on the app store page show the power button so that's false advertising which I could report. I've taken screen shots with date stamps.

Has there been any discussion, or movement through the development team, to bring the power button back in the android app?
I am thinking about getting rid of Roku because of this.

    It's ok. With how bad the device is working since the last update and the refusal to listen to your customers, I'm just replacing my Roku devices with alternatives and don't intend to ever buy a Roku device ever again.

You’re right—removing the power button was a downgrade. The only workaround now is to either use the Roku remote’s power button (if your model supports it), or control power via HDMI-CEC with your TV’s remote. Sadly, the Android app no longer supports direct power control, and the best step is to send feedback directly through the Roku support page so they register user demand to bring it back.

Please put the power button back on the android app. It is one of the best features you had. I could use the Roku app to turn on / off the TV screen. If I have to go back to using another remote just for the power button then why do I need to have the Roku app installed. That remote will control the Roku box. Another thing that would be really cool is if you could figure out a way to control tv volume through the roku app remote, just a thought. It should be possible if the tv has an hdmi arc port and an arc cable is used.

  I download my copy from google I have an android cell phone! I have the power button and my app controls volume always has on my tv. Big reasons to have the app.

The power button you reference never turned the Roku "off". Roku devices are never off. They might have a low power sleep mode, but they don't turn off. Roku TVs (as do all TVs) do not turn "off". They simply turn the screen off to save power. If they truly turned off, you could not use a remote to turn them back on.
The iOS app doesn't have a power button either, and some Roku remotes (mainly the simple IR remote) also does not have a power button. All that button ever did was to turn the TV off, not the Roku.

  Let me correct for those who need absolute correctness. The power button the turned "off" the Roku placed it and the TV into standby (as good as off gets these days for just about anything). For all intensive purposes the device is off as it is no longer operating as a entertainment device.

  The power button we are referencing turns the TV off. It turns my Samsung TV off. Removing that feature really hurts my usability. And these responses are not helpful.

    I was responding to the OP who said they used it to turn the Roku on/off. I simply corrected their observation. I agree it is helpful to have a power button to turn the system (TV and AVR if used) off, and I use it myself on the Roku remote. Why Roku removed it from the app, they have never explained.

Please add the Power button back onto the Android App. I rely on it, I need it!
