Jecheal,
Obviously, if it does this looping again, I will grab my phone and record it happening and share it, but it's not a cut and dry case.
My reply before this one did give a clue to the software versions, we were stuck on the 12.x version before the first random reboot, then it auto updated to the 13.x version during the reset. These values were grabbed from my Home Assistant integration as I can't disrupt my daughters Percy Jackson movie marathon at the moment! 🙂
It's the TCL Model 55S425Firmware: 14.0.4 (I believe that's the latest version?)Hardware: 7131XTroubleshooting steps taken? Not really much we can do except invoke the reset button! Powering it off for several minutes by removing the power cord had no effect to fix the issue. Think of this as your windows computer crashing and rebooting to Safe Mode every time, but on the TV, it doesn't show anything to indicate an error and just the boot logo, black screen, power down, boot logo, black screen power down, and repeat seemingly forever. We also left it for several minutes hoping it was some autorepair process, but it wasn't.- RokuJechealR11 months agoRetired Moderator
Thanks for the response, pdxviewer!
We regret to hear about this issue you've been having with the TCL Roku TV. We're glad to help.
One reason your TCL Roku TV keeps rebooting by itself is an issue with the power adapter, cord, or even the power outlet. Kindly make sure everything is intact at the back of the TV. Aside from using an Ethernet connection, could you try utilizing a mobile hotspot to check if there will be a difference when accessing channels?
Additionally, if performing a hard reset by locating the reset button at the back of the TV doesn’t resolve the issue, please keep us posted.
Let us know what you find out, and we'd be happy to assist further.
All the best,
Chel
