Check to see that the phone is on the same wireless network as the Roku and not on the cell network. For example:
Roku is on Mynetwork123
Phone should also be on Mynetwork123 in its wireless setting.

Hi Ricky2010,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
We are happy to look closer into this issue you're having with your phone not connecting to your device.
For us to help you better, we will ask a set of questions to isolate the issue.
- What Roku device are you using right now? (e.g., Roku Express, Roku Streambar, Roku TV—specify TV)
- What mobile phone are you trying to connect to your Roku device?
- Are you connecting your phone to your Roku device with the Roku mobile app or through an Airplay/Screen Mirror?
- Are you encountering any error codes or messages while trying to connect?
- Have you confirmed that both devices are connected to the same network? Also, have you checked that your Roku device is set to allow control via mobile apps in its settings?
With more detailed information, we'll be able to assist you further.
Thank you,
Chel
