Phone app remote not connecting and or working

Hello we brought the Roku to the hospital for chemotherapy and forgot the remote at home but I have the app on my phone and it's not connecting with the device all the same network I'm on my screen but can't connect the app remote to the Device it said it can't find it

    It's quite possible that the hospital doesn't allow connected devices to communicate with each other for security reasons.
