Same problem here. I have a Hisense Roku TV and Peacock completely locks up my TV to where I have to unplug it to reset the TV to start up again. Totally unusable in Roku. Works fine on my android box and firestick. Problem started on last update of Peacock. Comcast has terrible coders.

Mine to! constantly.
- OhByteMeChannel Surfer
This app is HORRIBLE! I can't get through the Dateline 24/7 channel for more than 45 minutes before the **bleep** thing crashes!!! TCL 32" Series 3 and TCL 55" Series6 here.
- GeeMacNewbie
Funny that mine never reset until I started to pay for the premium. Watching the Olympics is a nightmare.
- SeedsisterNewbie
I hate peacock. It keeps crashing. Pay premium and no issues.
- BoozieBoiseChannel Surfer
Nope. Why would I pay for premium if basic doesn't work? That's stupid.
- HollyLJReel Rookie
Same here, after I signed up for premium.
- PapaJSNewbie
Exactly! I just started paying for premium on Pisscock and now it crashes watching and have to keep restarting. Either fix it or I cancel service.

Thanks for the post.
When removing a channel, please make sure to restart your Roku device before adding the channel back again.
Please keep us posted what you find out.
Thanks,

What **bleep** difference does THAT make???? It doesn't! I have deleted with and without restarting the bloody thing and there is ZERO difference. Let us know when you have REAL suggestions... things that WORK! Like a FIXED APP!
- diplexerBinge Watcher
Agreed. It's the Roku app. I believe Comcast is responsible for development. Roku should pull the app 'til fixed or just let us go back to the previous version. Peacock works fine on other devices although the interface is slow to load. I expect no response from Comcast or Roku as they have terrible Customer service. An app that crashes your system should never be allowed.

Danny, I had the same issue start this afternoon. I have been playing shows on The Peacock channel on my Roku Ultra for months with no issue, including this morning.
This afternoon, whenever I try to play anything on Peacock, it crashes and sends me back to the Roku Home Screen.
I have
-restarted the device several times (both unplugged and usingRestart)
-played movies on other services with no issue.
-removed the app, rebooted, and reinstalled
None of these have resolved the issue, the Peacock help is useless, the chat just says it cannot answer direct questions and the articles do not address this issue.
any ideas?
- RokuKariza-DRetired Moderator
We do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Does the issue only occur when accessing Peacock or across other channels installed on your Roku device? If it's just one channel and other apps play fine, contact the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help.
Channels on Roku are maintained by the channel developer themselves. In this case, there's likely an issue within that specific channel that needs to be addressed with an update from the channel developer.
You can reach Peacock Support here: www.peacocktv.com/help
All the best,
Kariza

After doing this everytime you watch it, it's not worth the aggravation. I'll be canceling Peacock
- Kat6Channel Surfer
Mine does it too. I'll be watching something for 30-45 min and it just randomly exits out to the Roku menu. I know it's not Roku doing it because it's the only app that does it. I can have amazon or the roku channel on for 12 hours and it doesn't exit out.

Mine has been doing it too, on both rokus in my house. It freezes and won’t move on to the next episode and half the time the closed captioning won’t work. Like someone else said, it’s Peacock, not Roku bc no other apps do this.
I started to have this problem once I paid for the premium. When I was watching for free it never done this to me. Ill be watching a TV episode it stops and goes to roku main menu.. fix please I updated, Uninstalled still happening
- Lmy6265Reel Rookie
Having the same issues with this app and also the hulu app on my TLC Roku tv. Nothing has worked.
- ThekidfromplutoReel Rookie
This is happening to me too and deleting the app and restarting did nothing. How am I supposed to fix this?? It’s ridiculous. And now I can’t even post my **bleep** complaint without 140 letters. This is **bleep**ing stupid
- ThekidfromplutoReel Rookie
And the settings on my device doesn’t have an option for restarting the app.

Ditto for us too, is there any fix for this as it is maddening to pay for something and not be able to watch anything on it.
- BrittanyLynnNewbie
I have a Hisense Roku TV. Peacock crashes every hour and 15 minutes and I can’t find anything to help. Iv deleted it and reinstalled as well and it is still doing it. Only been happening for about a week but very very frustrating since I work from home and leave it on for background noise.
- ringsabreChannel Surfer
Same here.
Though here's a twist I haven't seen mentioned: often before it crashes, the lip synchronization falls off. The *temporary* fix I've employed is to go into Roku system and "system restart"-- this buys a little extra time, though not much (maybe another hour or two before next crash, though it seems the more you attempt to move around in Peacock--different programs, pausing/rewinding, the more likely a crash). I wondered if router reboot might help but it did not.
QUESTION for any of you: I know that deleting and re-installing an app is a good trick to try, however, there is no option to remove the Peacock app. This is confusing me: my other apps--excepting Paramount+, but which works fine--all have the option on the asterisk menu: "remove channel". Peacock has no option to "remove channel." How are you guys doing that?
System: 3900X Roku Express
- dreamer104Channel Surfer
ringsabre I have removed it numerous times and that still does not help, but for your dilemma, have you hovered over the peacock app without going into it on the roku main menu, and then hit the asterisk button for options. On mine, doing that it will then come up with a menu to remove it. That is how we remove it anyway, if we go into Peacock then we can't access the removal once the app comes up.
- OpiumTalentNewbie
Same here too. Will this ever be resolved?
- RokuMary-FCommunity Moderator
Hi OpiumTalent,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
I'd be happy to look closely to see how we can help get you up and running.
Here are a few questions here to better understand what you're experiencing:- What Roku model device are you using?
- Does the issue only occur on a specific channel or all channels on your Roku device?
- Are you receiving error messages or codes when accessing the channel
- What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far to try to resolve the issue
- Have you tried removing the channel, restarting your device from Settings>System>Power>System restart (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step), then once it loads up again, adding the channel back once more to see if that clears things up?
With more information, we will be able to assist you further.
Best regards,
Mary- ringsabreChannel Surfer
Hi Mary et al,
I would like yet again remind you folks that THERE IS NO APPARENT WAY TO REMOVE PEACOCK from the Roku home screen. So, when you blithely suggest removing and reloading the channel I'm always a bit surprised, since you should probably already know that this isn't possible. (I just checked again now to in fact verify that I wasn't dreaming all this up and no, there is no option for removing the Peacock streaming channel.)
Now, I seem to vaguely recall that you might be able to remove Peacock once you've canceled service AND waited for the natural expiration of the current contract period, but obviously, that makes your remove/reload advice virtually moot, since you might literally have to wait up to 29 days--sans Peacock at all--in order to merely *try* this strategy--a strategy which may not work anyway. There must be a better way.
As for me, since I think I was the one who began this particular thread, my issued kind of resolved itself. I remember tinkering with moving the router and the Roku receiver into better line-of-sight and perhaps that helped, but I am not sure. Or maybe it just resolved itself. Magic, I guess.
But anyway, I had to chime in again about the remove/reload issue because on my Roku anyway, it's not anything you can do (if you scroll back I *think* I once posted in this thread an actual picture of my TV proving that there was no "remove" option; you might look for it).
Cheers!
