Parental Controls screen time on Roku?

Many parents on this community keep asking for better parental controls, but Roku just says they don’t have that capability versus making it available. There is still no function to control screen time on our kids. I should be able to have my kids tv turn off after a period of time (5 hours if I choose), where they cannot access any apps without a pin after that time period. If I only want the tv accessible between the hours of 5pm-9pm…and not accessible before then (because it’s homework time or whatever the case) then I feel we should be able to control their screen time. As many class action lawsuits that are out there about kids and screen time….I’m surprised Roku isn’t actually looking further into these options and concerns from parents….just saying. Nearly every device you buy now and days have advanced parental controls…I guess ROKU needs some catching up to do, versus other electronics and devices.

    Hi there, Manea2425

    Thank you for the suggestion!

Just a heads-up—Roku has a timer feature in the settings that you can use to limit your kids' TV time. To access it, go to Home Settings System Time > Sleep Timer and select your desired interval.

    Hope this helps!

No, this does not help, unfortunately. There is a small rectangular device Roku has provided, called a remote, where they can press “Power” once the timer turns off the TV. By pressing power, the TV turns right back on. We are looking for real parental controls.
